SteelPay Safety Disclaimer

Introduction

This Safety Disclaimer is a legally binding agreement between you and SteelSight Systems. By using the SteelPay application ("App"), you acknowledge and agree to the following.

SteelPay is a pay-tracking and estimation tool. It does not file taxes or remittances, process payments, or provide accounting, tax, or legal advice. This disclaimer explains the limits of the estimates the App provides.

1. Reference and Estimation Tool Only

SteelPay is designed to help construction workers and payroll administrators track shifts, hours, and expected pay. It is NOT payroll software of record, and its outputs do NOT constitute accounting, tax, financial, or legal advice.

2. Tax and Deduction Estimates

Income tax, CPP, EI, and other deduction amounts calculated by the App:

• Are estimates based on published federal and provincial rates and the information you enter
• May not reflect the most recent rate changes, your complete tax situation, or employer-specific deductions
• May differ from the amounts your employer or payroll provider actually withholds
• Must be verified against your official pay statements and, where it matters, with a qualified accountant or tax professional

3. Pay Scale and Rate Data

Pay scales, overtime rules, and allowance rates stored in the App:

• Are user- or template-provided reference data
• May not match your current collective agreement, employment contract, or employer policy
• Must be verified against the authoritative source before you rely on them

4. Not Professional Advice

Nothing in the App constitutes accounting, tax, financial, or legal advice. Consult a qualified professional for advice about your specific situation.

5. User Responsibility

By using the App, you acknowledge and agree that:

• You are solely responsible for the accuracy of the hours, rates, and settings you enter into the App
• You will verify all pay, tax, and deduction estimates against official pay statements before relying on them
• You will direct questions about your actual pay to your employer, payroll provider, or a qualified professional
• You remain responsible for your own tax filings and any amounts owing, regardless of estimates shown in the App

6. Liability Waiver

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, SteelSight Systems, its officers, directors, employees, agents, and affiliates shall not be liable for any:

• Injuries (including death)
• Property damage
• Economic losses
• Regulatory penalties or enforcement action
• Consequential, incidental, special, or punitive damages

Arising from or related to your use of the App, reliance on any estimate, calculation, or record provided by the App, or your failure to independently verify pay, tax, or deduction amounts.

This limitation applies regardless of the theory of liability (contract, tort, negligence, strict liability, or otherwise) and regardless of whether SteelSight Systems has been advised of the possibility of such damages.

7. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless SteelSight Systems and its officers, directors, employees, agents, and affiliates from and against any and all claims, damages, losses, liabilities, costs, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from or related to:

• Your use of the App in connection with any payroll, timesheet, or compensation matters
• Your reliance on any estimate or calculation provided by the App
• Any dispute with an employer, payroll provider, or government agency involving records you created in the App
• Your failure to independently verify amounts provided by the App
• Your failure to comply with applicable tax and employment laws

8. Acknowledgment

By using the App, you expressly acknowledge that:

• You have read and understand this Safety Disclaimer
• You understand that all pay, tax, and deduction figures in the App are estimates, not statements of amounts owed or withheld
• You will not rely solely on the App for any financial, tax, or employment decision
• You understand that the App does not provide accounting, tax, or legal advice
• You waive all claims against SteelSight Systems for any damages arising from your use of the App, to the maximum extent permitted by law

9. Governing Law

This Safety Disclaimer is governed by the laws of the Province of Alberta, Canada, and the federal laws of Canada applicable therein.
